Dollar 4Business (D4B) Frequently Asked QuestionsFrequently asked questions about the Dollar 4Business program. How does our company become a Dollar4Business account? First, determine which Dollar 4Business plan fits your company's car rental needs; D4B Corp Rate Plan or D4B Flex Rate Plan. Next, complete the Dollar 4Business on-line application at dollar.com, and your company will be electronically issued a corporate agreement and provided with a Corporate Account (CD) number to be used on all reservations.
What is the difference between D4B Corp Rate Plan and the D4B Flex Rate Plan?
D4B
Corp Rate Plan offers low, competitive corporate rates, that will remain constant during the year. Corp Rate Plans also are provided with applicable corporate account benefits based on your company's spending commitment to Dollar. The Corp Rate Plan can be booked through any reservation method with your company's CD number.
What are the benefits of having a D4B corporate account? No matter which program you select, D4B Corp Rate Plan or D4B Flex Rate Plan, your company will be able to track car rental business through the use of your CD number.
Are there any surcharge cities? With the D4B Corp Rate Plan the following surcharges apply:
| |
| CITY/LOCATION |
SURCHARGE |
| Manhattan |
$15.00 |
| New York City Airports* |
$12.00 |
| New York State |
$ 9.00 | |
The D4B Flex Rate Plan does not have surcharge cities.
Do I have to take my corporate rate with the D4B Corp Rate Program? No. But the corporate terms and benefits for your company will not be applicable if the renter utilizes an alternate leisure or promotional rate.
Are corporate account rebates available? Yes. This is part of the D4B Flex Rate Plan when reservations are made on dollar.com.
How is the D4B Flex Rate Plan through dollar.com rebate processed? Once your company has reached $1,000 in total Time & Mileage revenue with Dollar for dollar.com reservations, a 3% rebate will be paid for that quarter. For example, if 1st quarter revenue is $450, no rebate will be paid and that amount is carried over to the next quarter; if 2nd quarter revenue is $650, combined with the 1st quarter (total T&M $1,100) a rebate payment would be made at the end of the 2nd quarter.
If at the end of the year, if revenue is less than $1,000, will we be paid a rebate? No, rebates are only paid when T&M is $1,000 or more.
How are the rentals tracked and applied toward the rebate? In order to qualify as a rental for the rebate, the Company's CD number must be given with each reservation and each reservation must be made on Dollar.com. Bookings without your company's CD number cannot be tracked and therefore cannot be tracked for the rebate. Rebates will not be paid on any rentals reserved through channels other than dollar.com.
Is there a charge for one-way rentals? One-way rentals are subject to availability. Rates will be quoted at the time of reservation.
What is your refueling policy? Dollar has three refueling options available to the traveler:
- The traveler may buy a pre-paid tank of fuel and return the vehicle as empty as desired. Dollar does not offer a refund on unused gasoline remaining in the fuel tank upon return.
- The traveler may fill the fuel tank at a gas station within a 10 mile radius of the Dollar rental location and present the gas receipt and there will be no refueling charges.
- The traveler can return the vehicle less than full. Refueling charges will vary depending on the rental location. The customer generally pays a stated price per gallon and Dollar estimates the number of gallons needed to fill the tank.
What is your minimum age requirement? The minimum age requirement is 21 years old unless otherwise mandated by state law. D4B Flex Rate and Corp Rate Plans may waive the underage driver fee as a negotiated corporate account benefit.
What are the additional driver requirements? An additional authorized driver must satisfy the age requirements of Dollar, have a valid drivers license, and must meet other rental requirements, which vary by Dollar location. D4B Flex Rate and Corp Rate Plans waive the additional driver fee as a negotiated corporate account benefit.
Are driving directions given at the locations? Counter agents offer driving directions and maps at no additional charge or you may receive driving directions, provided free of charge, by calling the toll free number listed on the rental agreement (1-866-434-2226). Many Dollar locations also offer GPS driving direction units for rent. Inquire at time of rental for their availability.
Does Dollar offer Emergency Road Service? Dollar has a very effective 24-hour Emergency Road Service system in place nationwide. A toll-free phone number, 800-235-9393, is available for renters who may experience mechanical or roadside difficulties. Operators at this number do one of three things to assist the customer:
- Route the call to Chrysler's 24-hour manufacturer sponsored roadside assistance desk for immediate attention. Chrysler provides an extremely comprehensive emergency service plan with all of their models.
- Route the call to the renting location for customer assistance, including car replacement delivery.
- Provide diagnostics to help the customer get on the way, (e.g., help with cold weather starting, how to remove the keys, etc.)
What do I do if I have an accident? In the U.S., an accident report form is included in the rental jacket, "Terms and Conditions", which is to be completed in the event of an accident or occurrence. Report the accident IMMEDIATELY to the rental location. The location and phone number will be on the rental agreement.
