Atlanta Airport gets top rankings in business travel surveyThursday, February 7, 2013 4:35:24 PM
A recent survey released by Travel Leaders Group has ranked Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport as the best airport for business travelers to make a connection, get good food and take advantage of helpful amenities.
According to The Seattle Times, the Atlanta airport is the busiest in the world, with 2,500 departures and landings and 250,000 travelers passing through each day. As a result, it sees a bevy of business travelers as they make connecting flights before reaching their final destination and securing an airport car rental for their business trip.
To obtain its rankings, Travel Leaders Group surveyed 930 travel agents, managers and other people who booked using the Minneapolis-based travel group, one of the largest in the country.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport likely received its high ranking for business travelers due to its variety of food choices, good wireless internet access and an abundance of phone and laptop charging stations, among other factors.
Ironically, the survey also ranked Atlanta's airport as the third worst airport to make a connecting flight (Chicago O'Hare International Airport claimed the top spot). Travel Leaders Group suspects this is due to the sheer enormity of Atlanta's airport: It covers 130 acres.
