How to stay healthy during your next business road tripThursday, March 7, 2013 11:52:14 AM
As airline prices rise and business travelers increasingly turn to car rental to cut costs, it's important that your business road trips don't turn into a binge-fest of fast food and sugary drinks. If you want to be in peak performance for your meetings, follow these easy tips for staying healthy on the road:
1. Stay hydrated
It can be easy to forget to drink water as you rush from meeting to meeting, but aiming for those eight glasses a day will help you stay healthy. You should also avoid dehydrating beverages like coffee and soda.
Traveling can be exhausting, so rest up when you can to energize your immune system. Take turns driving with your business colleague, and try to get a good night's sleep.
3. Get some fresh air
Even if you don't like to exercise, get outside and breathe in some fresh air everyday. Try walking around the block or strolling through the park between meetings.
4. Eat healthy
Ditch the vending-machine junk food and opt for healthy options, such as salads, fruits, lean meats and whole grains, when you eat out. Consuming a balanced diet will make you feel more alert.
