Always bring these 3 items on a business trip

As a person who travels for business, you should have a few staple items with you at all times. Here are a few things to consider:
Pens and paper
It's the digital age, but typing notes on your tablet while taking a call from your business travel rental car is not the easiest thing in the world. Keep a pen and paper handy for those moments when tech doesn't cut it.
The old adage about something never being there when you need it often rings true when it comes to business cards. It doesn't have to be this way. Slip a few cards into your wallet if you're going on a short trip to meet with a few key people. If you're headed to a conference or somewhere you will meet many people, consider bringing more. Many office supply stores offer business card holders that are compact and slip easily into your briefcase or pocket. This will prevent them from getting lost or dirty during your travels.
You get to the airport and realize your phone and tablet chargers are on your desk where you left them. The ones for sale at the airport might be more expensive than your originals, and it's possible there won't be ones that fit your particular device. Keep an extra charger in your briefcase or carry-on bag to prevent this from happening.
