Money-saving tips for small business travelers

2/11/2014 4:29:16 PM

While travelers can save big bucks with car rentals through Dollar Rent A Car, there are plenty of other costs that can really take a toll on your budget. Small business travelers going out of town for work tend to be strapped for cash and looking for easy ways to reduce the cost of the trip. If you're one of these people, consider some tips for saving money while on the road:

Travel early in the year
There tends to be less demand for business travel services in January and February because workers typically avoid going away during the cold winter season. For this reason, prices are generally lower during these months. Try traveling during this time of year to save money, but keep in mind that traveling during holidays such as Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday and President's Day may have higher costs.

Avoid taxis
Hopping in a cab may be convenient, but the costs of taxi rides can add up fast, particularly in big cities such as New York and Los Angeles. Rather, rent a small business car rental to keep your expenses low. In fact, many find that having access to a vehicle at any time is much more convenient than constantly hailing down a cab.
