Visit the Angels of Anaheim
When you think of grapes you probably don't think Anaheim, but growing grapes for the wind industry is how this southwestern California city started. When the grape crops failed, farmers moved to citrus and the agricultural industry boomed. Visit this oldest city in Orange County to have some trampoline fun and watch the Angels baseball team take on the competition.
Anaheim Packing District
Located in downtown Anaheim, the Packing District is a neighborhood of historic buildings that used to be involved in the citrus and agriculture industries in addition to automobile manufacturing. Today, they have been converted into awesome gathering places for:
- Live performance
- Intimate shops
Merchants in the district include restaurants and cafes such as Cafecito Organico, Hans' Homemade Ice Cream, Lemon Drop and more. You can try a tasty juice and learn about food that is local and organic at the Seed People's Market, or stop in for locally brewed beer and waffles at The Iron Press.
Drive your Anaheim rental car here to visit Rolling Boil for hot pots made with veggies and meat from area farmers. Stop by Buy 'N Bulk for all your home cooking needs, from spices and grains to nuts and treats. This is a great neighborhood to visit if you're looking to take a stroll and discover delicious local fare.
Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park
For some high-flying family fun, head to this awesome trampoline park. Sky Zone is the first indoor trampoline park in the world. You will love the grins on your kids' faces as they bounce around on the hundreds of trampolines at this park. They'll get a kick out of seeing you do a flip mid-air and land in a pit of foam cubes. Not only is all that jumping fun, it's a serious workout! You'll feel the burn and have a blast at the same time.
Jumpers are separated into jumping zones by size, which keeps everyone safe and within their limits. Anyone can jump, no matter their age or physical ability, so long as they follow the Sky Zone rules. Don't worry about footwear—Sky Zone provides special socks that allow for traction and soft landings, preventing injuries from hard shoes, and slipping from regular socks.
Jumpers can participate in ultimate dodgeball in one of the wall-to-wall trampolines. If you've got a crew together, you can even participate in an ultimate dodgeball tournament. To get a great deal on jumping, check out the Sky Zone website for its All You Can Jump hours during which pricing is only $15 for two hours.
Angel Stadium of Anaheim
When the American Baseball League Angels moved from Los Angeles after their 1965 season, they landed at this stadium. The team's opening game was on April 9, 1966, when the Angels played the San Francisco Giants. The first Anaheim Stadium held 43,204 seats but was renovated in 1979 to allow for the Los Angeles Rams National Football League team to play games there.
Today, the facility holds 45,050 fans and has newly redone press boxes and broadcast booths as well as:
- Wider concourses
- New concession areas
- Renovated restrooms
Drive your Anaheim rental car here to cheer for the Anaheim Angels, which is now a Major League Baseball team, and you might find yourself getting pretty hungry. Visit one of the three restaurants, The KnotHole Club, The Diamond Club or the Home Plate Club, where you can find hot dogs and sports bar food or an upscale dining experience.
