Miles to Minnesota

Looking for an adventure for the whole family? Get out your Google Maps and head to Minnesota. This beautiful state, known for its 10,000 lakes, has plenty to offer for kids and adults alike.

Target Field
Baseball fans looking for excellent seats and a great view of the Minneapolis skyline? Look no further than Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins. Built in 2010, this new stadium has approximately 18,500 infield seats and 20,000 parking spots within five blocks of the stadium, ensuring not only that you'll find parking but you'll also have an excellent seat! This team is named after Minnesota's two largest cities, Minneapolis and St. Paul. The state has a long history of amateur baseball with teams like the Minneapolis Millers and the St. Paul Saints, battling one another for league titles before Major League Baseball even existed. The teams no longer played in 1960 when the Washington Senators moved to Minneapolis and became the Minnesota Twins.

The Mall of America
Rained out from the Twins game? Head on over to Bloomington, Minnesota to visit the Mall of America. This giant complex is the largest shopping mall in the US, according to USA Today. This massive complex houses over 520 retail stores, the SEA LIFE Minnesota Aquarium, the Theaters at MOA, and Nickelodeon Universe. Take the kids over to Nickelodeon Universe and hop on any of the 25 rides with themes from The Backyardigans, Spongebob, Rugrats and more. If roller coasters and carousels aren't your style head over to the LEGO store and checkout the 34-foot LEGO robot! There's also an American Girl store for all your American Girl Doll needs. MOA hosts book signings and meet-and-greets with famous authors and athletes, musicians and celebrities of all sorts. It even hosts weddings and fashion shows.

The Minnesota Zoo
Maybe shopping and rides aren't your thing either. If you're looking for open air and adorable animals drive to the Minnesota Zoo. Opened in 1978, this 485 acre zoo houses more than 4,300 animals. From Minnesota natives like moose, bison and monarchs to not-so-natives like tigers and Asian wild horses, there's plenty to see at the zoo! With animal feedings, to IMAX movie screenings of popular titles and scenic documentaries about the animals you can visit at the zoo, there's something for every kind of animal-lover!
