This huge field opened on Nov. 21, 1914, for a game against rivals, the Harvard Crimson. When it opened, this facility was the largest athletic stadium in the entire world and the first venue completely surrounded by seating. Not only do the Yale Bulldogs play here, several NFL teams have used the field for games, including the New York Giants and Detroit Lions as well as the New York Jets. World Cup soccer games, tennis matches, lacrosse games, concerts, movies, television advertisements and even the 1995 Special Olympic World Games have been held here over the years. Drive to this stadium and you might bepart of a record breaking crowd. The current record for attendance at a game at the Yale Bowl is 80,000 fans. Many of the largest crowds were for Harvard versus Yale games, feeding the rivalry that has been going on since the 1800s. Be sure you wear your Yale blue if you attend a game at the Bowl.

Families love this Hartford museum where kids can engage with 150 hands-on exhibits and learn about the world around them. Watch an unforgettable 3D movie or catch a show at the Maximilian and Marion Hoffman Foundation Science Theater inside the museum. Featured exhibits include, "Sight and Sound", "Picure of Health", "Exploring Space and even a locally-focused exhibit about the nearby Connecticut River. There's a lot to learn here, and all ages can enjoy some hands-on learning. The museum hosts camps for students during the summer time and also has special activities for scout groups. This is a great location for field trips and families who enjoy learning and science!
