After pick up, jump in your new ride and drive to 1 East 161st Street in the Bronx to see the legendary Yankees Major League Baseball Team play a home game. Yankee fans call the facility "The House that Ruth Built" after Babe Ruth, the infamous player who was a part of the team for several World Series championships and league championships. He also broke records here, including one for themost home runs in one season, when he beat his previous record of 59 runs in 1927 by one run. Today Ruth's records are for eighth and ninth most hits in an MLB season. The original stadium was across the street from where it sits today. It was the first three-tiered sports arena in the country. The new park was built in 2009. Near the halfway point in every game, the grounds crew comes onto the field and performs the "Y.M.C.A." song and dance. If you stay an entire game, you're sure to hear Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York" blaring from the stadium speakers; the song is played after every game. When you visit this park, you'll sit in one of 52,000 newly constructed seats across three levels. Occasionally non-baseball events are held here, from National Hockey League games to NCAA football, soccer and even boxing matches. You'll enjoy visiting this new piece of franchise history when you check out Yankee Stadium.
For a look at exotic animals in naturalistic habitats, head to this expansive zoo. You would need a day or two to fully see this 265-acre facility. You can visit aardvarks, collared lemurs, giraffes, grizzly and polar bears, snow leopards and red pandas at the mammal exhibits. Drive your New York City rental car here to check out bald eagles, Magellanic penguins, owls and other birds. Do you have a family member who likes reptiles and amphibians?
