Fort Lauderdale’s salty sea air can really rev up your appetite, and if you find yourself near Las Olas Boulevard when those cravings strike, you’re in luck. Las Olas is one place you’ll never go hungry. Whether you’re craving food truck grub, the fruits of the sea, or good ol’ family-friendly New American eats, you can find it all here. These local faves will please everyone in your crowd.
Nacho Bizness International Food Truck
Nacho Bizness food truck, a staple on Las Olas, spices things up with tacos and burritos that are way outside the box. Choose from the vegetarian Earthday taco; the Yum Yum taco, packed with spicy Korean pulled pork; or the Marley taco, loaded with Jamaican jerk chicken. The menu is big on taste and small on price, so your tummy and your wallet will be happy.
With a relaxed Florida feel and its “be nice” motto, Coconuts is a go-to place for comfort seafood done right. At its waterfront spot right off Las Olas, there’s even space to dock your rented boat. The regular menu has all the usual suspects, from lobster rolls to coconut shrimp, and there’s an impressive wine list to take things up a notch. Drop in for Sunday brunch, and try the lobster club sandwich or chocolate fudge swirl pancakes. Oh, and make sure you stop by on Tuesday or Friday night for Nelson’s outdoor paella.
Royal Pig Pub
Class up your lunch or dinner without breaking the bank at the Royal Pig Pub, located just a few blocks from the beach. This moderately priced gastropub is chill enough to bring the kids, but it’s far from feeling like a run-of-the-mill chain. Voted as having the best mac and cheese in South Florida, the Royal Pig serves lunch, dinner, and brunch. Choose from shared appetizers, salads, sliders, burgers, creative sandwiches, and other pub classics.
Want fast-casual dining that doesn’t taste like fast food? Make a beeline and buzz on over to Beehive Kitchen. Here you can build your own food bowl with fresh, healthy ingredients like kale, lemon basil quinoa, or sweet potato glass noodles. Don’t worry — there are plenty of meat options, too, carnivores. You won’t find freezers or fryers here, but you will find flavorful, health-conscious bites at a fraction of the cost of ritzier Las Olas eateries. If you have a sweet tooth, Beehive also serves cold-pressed juices and cake jars.
