Las Vegas is known for its never-ending entertainment options, but there’s more to Sin City than gambling and late-night parties. Las Vegas has plenty of family-friendly activities too. And the best part is a lot of these activities are free. To help families plan a trip to Las Vegas, here are eight places to add to your itinerary that offer free entertainment.
Flamingo Wildlife Habitat
The Flamingo Las Vegas isn’t just the oldest hotel on the strip. It’s also home to a 15-acre wildlife habitat. Take the family to see parrots, turtles, pelicans, exotic fish, and, of course, flamingos. The animals live in a lush landscape with waterfalls and walking paths that’s sure to captivate everyone’s attention.
The Aquarium at Silverton Casino
Head to Silverton Casino where an 117,000-gallon aquarium serves as the lobby’s ceiling. With more than 4,000 exotic fish and people dressed as mermaids swimming through the tank, it’s a jaw-dropping experience the whole family will enjoy.
The Fountains of Bellagio
With cameo appearances in movies like “Ocean’s Eleven,” the fountains outside of the Bellagio have become a Las Vegas icon. Take the family to see the hotel’s specular water show that’s choreographed to music and shoots water up to 450 feet into the air. Shows happen frequently, so check the Bellagio website for specific times.
Viva Vision on Fremont Street
Take a break from the strip, and travel to the original party hub of Vegas, Fremont Street. Along this five-block section of town there’s a screen suspended overhead with 12.5 million LED light bulbs that project a six-minute musical light show every hour called Viva Vision.
Circus Circus Midway
See high-flying trapeze tricks, circus clowns, and unicycle riders at the free, 30-minute show at Circus Circus. Various acts rotate throughout the day, which means you can catch different shows every hour on the hour. Performances start around lunchtime.
The Mirage Volcano
In front of the 31-floor hotel is an outdoor marvel that every family will love. The Mirage Volcano erupts with flames bursting into the air and water cascading from waterfalls. The show is set to music and lasts about 10 minutes. Check the Mirage website for exact times.
Head to the fourth floor of M&M’s World for some free entertainment. Check out the 3-D movie theater, see the evolution of the famed candy in the gallery of pictures, and snap a picture of you and the kids near the M&M racecar that hit the track for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
Give your itinerary some international flavor by wandering through Paris Las Vegas Hotel. The grounds are home to small-scale replicas of many Parisian landmarks, including the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe.
