So, you've got a few nature enthusiasts in the family? A few fans of getting dirty? For your next vacation, look no further than the outdoor mecca of Denver. After picking up your Denver rent a car, your options for natural sights are nearly endless. However, the terrain can be rough, so here are a few of the most kid-friendly spots to enjoy in the Mile-High City.

Castlewood Canyon State Park
If you enter this park and can't seem to figure out why it has canyon in its name, don't fret - after parking your Denver car rental, you'll soon see that you're actually situated along the canyon's rim! Castlewood Canyon is the perfect place to explore and uncover new scenery for nature enthusiasts old and young alike. Take a stroll along one of many hiking trails in the park, or let the kids congregate with other toddlers and children at the great playground located just outside the park's amphitheatre.

South Valley Park
For new parents and those with a baby in tow, it's hard to beat the location, wildlife and easy hikes that are found in South Valley Park. Just a short drive from downtown in a Denver car rental, is one of the park's best hikes for young families: the Coyote Song Trail. Covering about two miles of terrain, the trail is sure to pique everyone's interest with its wide variety of flora and its wildlife - animal sightings abound, so tell your little ones to keep their eyes peeled!

Deer Creek Canyon
If you and your kids are already seasoned hikers, then go for a challenge! Drive your car rental in Denver over to the town of Littleton to take on the steady climbs of Deer Creek. With spectacular views throughout, any pains you may gain or sweat you may shed will soon be forgotten on this 2.7-mile route. It's a steady climb, but a good challenge for any determined family!

Lair O' the Bear/Creekside Trail
If your kids are fans of nature more for the dirt aspect than its beauty, there's no better spot in the Denver area than the Lair O' the Bear and Creekside Trails. A great place to look for water insects and get a little muddy, this short trail is a best bet for any mini-adventurer.
