How to cut the line at airport securityTuesday, June 11, 2013 9:36:31 AM
When you're in a hurry and all you can think about is hopping in an airport car rental so you can get to your meeting on time, the last thing you want to do is wait in a long line at airport security. Fortunately, there are a few ways you may be able to cut the line:
Only available to frequent flyers and Global Entry members, PreCheck is a program that allows you to make your way through airport security while still wearing your jacket, belt and shoes - you don't even have to remove your toiletries or electronics from your bags! Although PreCheck is not available in all airports, it's constantly expanding. Check airports near you to see if they have this program before flying.
Join frequent flyer programs
if you find yourself traveling for business quite often, it may be worth it to join a frequent flyer program. Some airlines will allow their frequent flyers to skip the queue, which may mean the difference between missing and making your flight if your schedule has you running late.
Pay a fee
If you really need to cut the security line, some airlines will allow you to do so by paying a fee. Prices vary depending on the airline.
