What is the Dollar Express Rewards Program?

This is a Rewards Program where Dollar Express Rewards Members can earn points on rentals at Dollar locations in the United States and Canada.

Members will earn 1 point per qualifying U.S. $1 spent on rentals to redeem for free days on daily, weekly, or weekend rentals on cars Compact to Full-size. A free weekend rental day starts at 500 points. Member will still be responsible for paying all taxes and fees associated with the rental. Just make sure you select Dollar Express Rewards as your preferred partner on your profile.

Who can join?

Any customer who is 18 or older may join the Dollar Express Rewards program, but to earn points on rentals, or to redeem Rewards, the rental must occur in the U.S. or Canada. Anyone under the age of 25 may be charged an underage driver fee, to learn more click here.

What information is needed to enroll?

All you'll need to enroll is your driver's license and a major debit or credit card. We will also ask you for your address, car preferences, and the options you'd like to have on every rental.

If you would like to earn rewards with our partners, you'll need to include your program loyalty number. It's fast, free, and easy to sign up.

Why are there multiple partners on the Rewards partner list? Do I have to fill in all the fields? Will I receive rewards for all partners listed when I rent?

You may store up to 6 different partners in your profile with whom you can earn rewards. Each time you make a reservation, you can select if you want to change your preferred partner. If you do not change your primary partner, you will earn rewards or miles from the partner listed as Partner 1. With Dollar Express Rewards, you can earn free rental days or you can choose to earn airline miles or hotel points. For more information regarding our partners, please see our partners listing.

How long will my membership be valid?

As long as the debit or credit card and driver’s license on the account are valid.

Why do you need a company name? What if I'm self-employed, retired or unemployed?

As part of the general rental policies, we need to have additional contact information that includes an employer name and phone. If you do not work, are retired, or self-employed, please enter "retired," "self-employed" or "unemployed" in the field and provide us with an alternative contact phone number.

Why do you need an employer phone number?

As part of the general rental policies, we need an additional method of contact.  This can be an employer phone, mobile phone, or local contact information.  If you are retired, unemployed or self-employed, please enter "unemployed," "retired" or "self-employed" in the company name field and provide us with an additional contact telephone number.

Why should I select Peace of Mind options?

The Dollar Express Rewards program is designed to provide you speed of service. When completing your profile, Peace of Mind preferences are saved for future rental activity and applied automatically.

How does the Prepay the Fuel option work?

Avoid last minute stops and purchase fuel in advance. Prepay the fuel at the start of your rental and return without stopping for gas. Estimate based on current fuel prices and car class reserved.

Our “Prepay the Fuel (PTF)” (sometimes labeled Fuel Purchase Option or “FPO”) option means prepaying for a full tank of gas at the rental facility. The quoted price is based on an estimate of current fuel prices and the largest tank size for the car class reserved. This actual price you pay may be lower or higher at the time of rental based on then-current fuel prices for the location at the time of rental and the actual vehicle rented. You will not receive credit for fuel left in the tank at the time of return. If you choose the PTF/FPO option and do not want it when you pick the vehicle up, you must ask for it to be taken off before leaving the facility. PTF/FPO is optional – if not selected, you can return the tank full or pay for gas used and not replaced when you return to the facility at a specified price.

What if I have a P.O. Box for an address?

Our rental policies require a physical address in order to rent a vehicle. P.O. Boxes are welcome to be used as a mailing address, however, a physical address (work, home, or other) needs to be in the Street Address field. If a P.O. Box is in the street address, the account will be deactivated until a physical address is provided. Click here for more questions on general policies.

I lost my membership card; can I request a new one?

Cards can be obtained and printed from our website. Sign into your Dollar Express Rewards account and select the “Print your Membership Card” option at the bottom of the page.

Saving a Debit or Credit Card in My Profile

Debit cards cannot be saved to Dollar Express profiles.

For non-Express rentals, there will be an incidental hold of $200 for credit and $500 for debit + cost of rental applied at pickup. The incidental hold is waived for Dollar Express members with a non pre-paid VISA saved in their profile after the first rental.

Debit card utilization is valid at all Dollar Car Rental U.S. Corporate locations and participating franchise locations. Dollar franchise locations may set their own requirements for debit card acceptance. To see a list of franchise locations click here.
