TULSA, OKLAHOMA, March 21, 2003: Dollar Rent A Car, a subsidiary of the Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc. (NYSE:DTG), today announced a travel contingency plan is in place for travelers in the event air travel would be suspended by the U.S. government.

In the event air travel is suspended by the U.S. government, a special one-way rental policy will immediately apply to vehicles on rent at all corporate and participating licensee locations, allowing displaced travelers to reach their destinations. On-rent vehicles may be returned to any location in the United States without any additional intercity fees or drop-off charges. Rates in effect at the time of rental will continue through the extended rental period. For customers requiring new reservations during suspended air travel, Dollar will lift the limits on the number of fleet allowed for one-way use, based on vehicle availability.

For reservations or to modify existing reservations, customers can call 800-800-4000 or log on to dollar.com.

“We want to assure our customers that should air travel be suspended, we are prepared to assist them in reaching their destinations,” said Gary Paxton, Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc., President and COO – Corporate Operations.
