If I am an existing member and I have rental credits, what do I do?

Existing rental credits in your account will convert to 40 points per rental credit.

All future rewards redemptions will be done online at dollar.com. Reward redemption reservations can only be done online.

If I am an existing member and I have free day certificates, what do I do?

All active certificates will expire February 4, 2016.

If you have an unused, unexpired free day certificate, it will convert to 625 points—enough for a free weekday rental.

If I am an existing member and I have booked with free day certificates, what do I do?

All active certificates will expire February 4, 2016.

If you’ve made a reservation using a free day certificate, you will not need to bring the certificate with you to the counter. Our customer Care team will make contact with you before your rental date to inquire on the number of certificates you plan to redeem. Customer Care will utilize the phone number or email address for contact. Please visit dollar.com to ensure your contact information is updated.

How do I become a member to earn points?

To earn Dollar EXPRESS Renter Rewards points, you have to be a member of our Dollar EXPRESS Program. It's free to sign up. Join Here: https://www.dollar.com/Express/Enroll.aspx

 

Members of the Dollar EXPRESS Renter Rewards Program will only earn points and redeem points in participating U.S. and Canada locations.

Who may participate in the rewards program?

This program is open to all new and existing Dollar EXPRESS members. If you are already a member, all you need to do is select Renter Rewards as your preferred loyalty partner. To become a member, complete an application enrollment form available on dollar.com. Only one membership per person is allowed. 

Members are responsible for governmental surcharges, taxes, tax reimbursement, vehicle license fees, airport related fees, fuel purchase option, refueling, excess mileage charge, and any optional services or products. Renter must have a valid driver’s license, meet our age requirements and fulfill other criteria being applied to renters.

How can I earn rewards points?

  • Participants will earn one point for every qualified U.S. dollar spent on each qualifying rental. Qualifying rentals include all paid car rentals at participating locations in the United States and Canada.
  • Each individual must participate separately and may have only one account within the Program. Neither participation in the Program, rewards are transferable.
  • Members and travel agents/managers must provide the member ID at the time they make a reservation or at the time of rental in order to receive program points. Every rental day under the program will qualify for points.
  • Points earned do not expire as long as you have a reward activity in the prior 24 months. Activity means a Reward Point was either earned or redeemed on a rental. 

How can I redeem points?

  • Rewards require a one-day advanced reservation and the Renter Reward must be selected at the time of the reservation.
  • To use Rewards Points for a rental in the U.S. or Canada, members must redeem Rewards Points in one transaction online when booking a rental. To redeem Points and reserve a car online, log on to dollar.com and make your reward reservation by checking the rewards box, select from the group of possible rewards on the reservations page, and complete the booking.
  • Points will be automatically deducted from your account.  Once points are redeemed and a rental reservation is made online, any changes, modifications or cancellations to the Reward reservation may be made online. Please note: You must cancel your reservation 24 hours before you pick up your vehicle in order to have your points returned if you used a Reward.
  • Renter Rewards Rentals will be subject to vehicle availability at the time and place of rental. Renter Rewards offers are void where prohibited by law.

Car Class: Compact, Mid-size, Standard or Full-size cars only.

Can I redeem points on any rental?

Rewards points are available for use on rentals of Compact through Full-size cars. Renter Reward points may only be redeemed for rentals within the U.S. and Canada according to the renting location's terms and conditions, and are subject to availability and must be surrendered at time of transaction.

Do points expire?

Points earned do not expire as long as you have a reward activity in the prior 24 months. Activity means a Reward Point was either earned or redeemed on a rental. 

Are there Blackout dates?

Reward Points may only be redeemed within the U.S. and Canada at Dollar, according to the renting locations terms and conditions and subject to availability and blackout dates. Blackout dates are subject to change without notice.

            -          Dates: February 11, 2016 - February 19, 2016. Blackout Locations: Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, New York Zone including Newark locations, Manhattan and New York Airports , Wyoming and Utah.

            -          Dates: March 23, 2016 – March 30, 2016. Blackout Locations: All States. 

            -          Dates: March 26, 2016 – March 28, 2016. Blackout Locations: All States.

            -          Dates: July 1, 2016 – July 4, 2016. Blackout Locations: All States excluding Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas.

            -          Dates: October 6, 2016 – October 8, 2016. Blackout Locations: Connecticut, Florida, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York Zone including Newark locations, Manhattan and New York Airports, Rhode Island, and Vermont. 

-       Dates: December 16, 2016 – December 28, 2016. Blackout Locations: Florida and Hawaii

Can I change, modify or cancel my reward reservation?

Once points are redeemed and a rental reservation is made online, any changes, modifications or cancellations to the Reward reservation may be made online. Please note: You must cancel your reservation 24 hours before you pick up your vehicle in order to have your points returned if you booked with a Reward.

How can I view my account activity?

Members may access account activity online at dollar.com or by calling Dollar EXPRESS Member Services at 1-866-776-6667.

Are points transferrable?

At this time, points can’t be transferred.

I’m a member of Hertz Gold Plus Rewards and/or Thrifty Blue Chip Rewards, since this is the same company can I use those points at Dollar?

Even though we are one company, the loyalty programs will remain separate at this point therefore points can’t be used at the other brands.

I am missing previous credits/certificates? What can I do?

Please call Dollar EXPRESS Member Services at 1-866-776-6667.

If I forget to request points on my reservation, will you add them after the rental is closed?

Once the new program is in effect, there will be a Missing Point request form online via the dollar.com website. Until program change, please call Dollar EXPRESS Member Services at 1-866-776-6667.
